Mastering Framing Job Estimates: A Comprehensive Guide
Master framing job estimates with this comprehensive guide — learn to estimate framing materials, drywall requirements, and labor with accuracy and confidence.
Read ArticleLumber and rough carpentry takeoffs for wood-framed buildings: studs, plates, joists, sheathing, trusses and connectors.
Wood framing is ordered piece by piece, so a useful lumber takeoff lists sizes, lengths and counts, not just square footage. We take off walls, floors and roofs from the framing plans and wall sections and group the material the way a lumber yard quotes it.
Finish carpentry, cabinets and architectural woodwork are covered separately on our millwork and cabinetry page; light-gauge metal framing is covered with drywall.
Also covered on this page: Wood, plastics and composites (CSI Division 06).
