Roofing Estimating and Takeoff
Roofing estimates that measure every plane, edge and penetration, then price the roof system specified.
Roofing Estimating and Takeoff Overview
Roofs are priced in squares, but the details drive the cost: slopes, valleys, hips, parapets, penetrations and edge conditions. We measure each roof plane from the roof plan and elevations, apply slope factors, and count the flashings and accessories that the specification requires.
Roof insulation and cover boards are included with low-slope systems. Wall insulation is covered on our insulation page, and below-grade waterproofing on our waterproofing page.
Also covered on this page: Roofing portion of thermal and moisture protection (CSI Division 07).
